No. Any old smartphone or tablet with a browser works as the attendance kiosk. We've seen teams run it on a 2019 Samsung Galaxy A20 for years.
Each employee's phone is bound to their account for 60 minutes after each punch. Two people can't punch from the same phone in the same shift, and one person can't be bound to two phones. Stronger than a fingerprint reader, which can be fooled with a silicone mold.
